T-Mobile is enabling satellite data for some iOS apps, despite Apple's apparent reluctance.

Apple wants people to know that they don't have to use T-Satellite.
The company is notifying users that iPhone's satellite capabilities can still be used even if their service provider offers similar options. The company's website now includes instructions for disabling carrier-provided satellite features in the Settings app.
Some users may prefer T-Mobile's Starlink-based T-Satellite features, as Apple's satellite features are limited to contacting emergency services, messaging contacts, and location sharing. Also, Apple's features are only available on iPhone 14 models and newer in certain areas.
T-Satellite is compatible with the iPhone 13, and T-Mobile plans to introduce MMS support in the near future.
However, the service is only included at no charge for T-Mobile customers with Experience Beyond and Go5G Next plans. All other customers will be required to pay a monthly fee to use the service.
T-Mobile and Apple are not direct competitors, but given that they both provide satellite features, it is understandable why Apple would prefer users to utilize the iPhone's integrated features.
