T-Mobile is partnering with a 24-hour cable channel to provide breaking news updates.

Using smartphones powered by T-Mobile's SuperMobile service, reporters will be one man "breaking news" crews in the field.
T-Mobile has announced a partnership with CNN, enabling the news organization to equip its journalists with SuperMobile business plans. This will transform their smartphones into mobile newsrooms, allowing CNN reporters to deliver live breaking news from any location in the United States. Smartphones have become important tools for journalists, especially those covering breaking stories on the move.
CNN journalists rely on their smartphones to gather information from various sources. With built-in cameras for photos and videos, reporters can function as one-person crews, providing CNN with footage of important events even without a traditional camera crew present.
According to Guy Griggs, SVP of Ad Sales & Client Partnerships at CNN, SuperMobile from T-Mobile will allow their journalists to turn phones into mobile newsrooms capable of delivering live breaking news from almost anywhere. He added that technology and connectivity are critical to how news is sourced, produced, and distributed, and that this collaboration will enhance the experience for CNN users.
SuperMobile utilizes T-Mobile's 5G Advanced Network, which offers customized slices of the carrier's 5G network to users. Unlike older networks that can experience congestion, network slicing ensures data-heavy applications, like live streaming and large file transfers, run smoothly.
CNN viewers will soon witness SuperMobile in action as reporters cover breaking news live. This collaboration will be visible across CNN's digital platforms, including its website, mobile app (iOS, Android), and streaming subscription service that launched last month.
T-Mobile's SuperMobile plan offers faster uploads, secure communications, and more, enabling CNN to bring stories closer to its audience. SuperMobile includes T-Satellite, allowing CNN journalists to go live from any location in the U.S. with a visible sky. This service also provides access to maps, navigation, and weather updates, even in areas with no cellular connectivity.
A "Threat Protect" feature runs in the background to ensure secure communications across all mobile apps on SuperMobile-powered phones, even on public Wi-Fi. This protects journalists from potential hacking during live reports.
Mo Katibeh, CMO of T-Mobile for Business, stated that SuperMobile makes real-time, mobile-first journalism possible, allowing CNN journalists to stream live from various locations with the speed and reliability needed to inform the world in real-time.
