T-Mobile is focused on improving customer experience through its T-Life app, rather than just cutting costs, according to Freier. The company reports 85 million app downloads and over 20 million active monthly users. Two-thirds of all phone upgrades are now completed on the app.

Freier said that T-Mobile has been recognized as having the best overall network in the U.S. He acknowledged previous network issues and is working to attract customers who may have had negative experiences in the past. He emphasized the opportunity to attract network-focused customers.
T-Mobile has begun integrating UScellular's network, which is improving coverage and performance for both T-Mobile and UScellular subscribers. T-Mobile plans to begin moving UScellular customers to T-Mobile's network next year.
T-Mobile intends to offer "big headline offers" this quarter. These promotions are designed to create interest, increase store traffic, and highlight the deals T-Mobile provides. Specific deals were not disclosed.
According to Freier, most new subscribers are choosing premium plans. T-Mobile has raised its estimate for net new postpaid phone subscribers in the fourth quarter to 3.3 million. Freier believes that the carrier is well-positioned to compete whether customers are actively switching or not.

Freier noted that 70 million AT&T and Verizon customers chose those providers when they had the best network. T-Mobile sees a big opportunity in convincing those customers that T-Mobile now has the superior network.
