T-Mobile's promotion offering free Apple TV is ending soon, so customers should check how much time they have left to claim it.

No longer enjoying Apple TV for free.
Since 2022, T-Mobile's Apple TV On Us promotion has provided the streaming service at no cost to customers with qualifying Plus-level plans. Apple's subscription price increased from $6.99 to $9.99 in 2023 and then to $12.99 this past August.
T-Mobile has covered the price increase but will shift to a discounted perk on January 1, 2026. Until then, the service remains free. After that date, T-Mobile will offer a $9.99 discount, requiring subscribers to pay the remaining $3 monthly.
This discounted rate is exclusive to members of the Apple TV On Us program. Those who pay for Apple TV through T-Mobile but are not part of the program will pay the full $12.99 monthly cost starting in January, matching Apple's direct subscription price, eliminating any advantage to billing through T-Mobile.
T-Mobile has updated its support page with details, and affected Plus plan subscribers are being notified via text message. The message states that, due to Apple's price increase to $12.99/month, T-Mobile customers will receive a $9.99/month benefit, so starting January 1, 2026, Apple TV will cost $3.00/month after the discount. The T-Life app offers more information and cancellation options.
Customers can opt out of the discounted Apple TV via the T-Life app by going to Benefits, selecting the Streaming tab, choosing Apple TV, and confirming cancellation.
Alternatively, a free 6-month Apple TV trial is available through Un-carrier, after which the service costs $12.99 monthly.
Carriers are moving away from providing numerous free add-ons to attract customers. While not entirely absent, these perks are now fewer and often come with conditions.
Verizon recently discontinued free Apple Arcade access and now offers discounts on most add-ons. T-Mobile will also begin charging for Apple TV in January and previously ended unlimited Google Photos storage.
These changes suggest a shift towards increased profitability for carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon, rather than a focus on subscriber growth through freebies.
