T-Mobile's satellite service now supports essential apps.

The T-Satellite service will now help you run certain apps in areas without cellular connectivity.
When traveling in areas without cell service, access to weather updates can be important. AccuWeather and AllTrails are now available via T-Satellite. AllTrails is useful for outdoor activities like hiking and snow sports.
WhatsApp is also compatible with T-Satellite, allowing users to send messages and make calls. Even in remote areas or cellular dead zones, users can communicate using the app.
Other apps supported by T-Satellite include X and T-Mobile's T-Life app. Users can manage their T-Mobile account and redeem rewards, regardless of their location. The CalTopo app can also be used to create maps for outdoor activities.
The onX app, which includes onX Backcountry, onX Hunt, onX Offroad, and onX Fish, is available through T-Satellite. It helps users locate trails, campsites, and bodies of water. The app provides real-time weather and animal movement predictions.
T-Satellite also supports business apps like Dialpad, FLORIAN, MultiLine, and T-Mobile Direct Connect. T-Mobile Direct Connect enables communication with the office through voice messages and Push-to-X messaging, which sends pictures and videos. This is valuable for seeking help in areas without cell service.
Both iOS and Android versions of these apps are compatible with T-Satellite, and more apps will be added soon.
T-Satellite connectivity is designed to be seamless. The phone automatically connects to the satellite network when a terrestrial signal is lost, without requiring special settings. When users open a satellite-ready app, it connects as expected, offering essential services in areas without cell towers.
As soon as a cell signal drops, a compatible phone will automatically connect to the T-Satellite network.
Android 16 and iOS 26, the latest versions of the mobile operating systems, are compatible with T-Satellite. The satellite service is free for T-Mobile subscribers on the Experience Beyond and Go5G Next plans. Other T-Mobile subscribers and Verizon and AT&T subscribers can access T-Satellite for $10 monthly.
T-Mobile is adding data to the service shortly after its launch. Mike Katz, President, Marketing, Innovation and Experience at T-Mobile, noted the positive response to T-Satellite's first two months, stating that it has already proven invaluable for wireless users.
Katz mentioned the rescue of a Girl Scout who fell into a canyon in California, which was made possible by T-Satellite. He added that providing access to essential apps in previously unreachable areas enhances safety and peace of mind.
