T-Mobile will begin charging some customers for a previously free perk unless they opt out.

A T-Mobile text says the DashPass offer is ending prematurely.
T-Mobile's website still promotes the offer, but some details have been altered. When the deal began on July 8, those with qualifying plans could claim a free subscription by August 4. Now that the deadline has passed, the site states that starting August 21, customers can activate their free year of DashPass within 30 days of switching to Experience Beyond or Experience More plans, which are now the only eligible plans.
T-Mobile has also included a new FAQ: "What happens to my DashPass if am no longer on a qualifying T-Mobile rate plan?" T-Mobile says that if a customer switches to a plan that does not qualify, the free subscription will convert to a paid one.
T-Mobile should still honor its commitment to providing customers with two years of free DashPass, even though it has made the criteria more strict since the offer was first introduced.
The updated terms for customers who did not claim a free pass in early August appear to have created issues within T-Mobile's system. The fact that only Experience Beyond and Experience More plans now qualify may have led the system to incorrectly identify customers on other plans as ineligible.
We have contacted T-Mobile and will provide updates as soon as we receive a response.
