Movetime MT48 Smartwatch for Young Children
TCL's Movetime MT48 smartwatch, designed for younger children, will be available in Europe soon. It features high-precision Dual Frequency GPS. This L1+L5 system provides more accurate location tracking, especially in urban environments.
In addition to GPS, the MT48 includes 4G calls, an SOS button, and IP68 water resistance. Unlike Google's Fitbit Ace LTE, which uses a subscription-based service to gamify activity, the MT48 focuses on safety.
The decision between safety technology and interactive features depends on the parent. While the Fitbit Ace LTE offers an engaging experience, it has a higher initial cost and a monthly fee. The TCL Movetime MT48 offers a practical and affordable safety solution. It will launch in late October in Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, and France for €150 (approximately $175 USD).
Nxtpaper 5G Junior Smartphone for Older Children
The TCL Nxtpaper 5G Junior smartphone addresses concerns about screen time and eye health for older kids. It features a 6.67-inch Nxtpaper display, which uses TCL's technology to reduce glare and blue light.
The smartphone has a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, 8GB of RAM (expandable by 10GB), 256GB of internal storage, and microSD card support up to 2TB. The 5200mAh battery should last for a full school day.
Additional features include a 50MP main camera, 5G connectivity, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Parental controls offer parents peace of mind. The TCL Nxtpaper 5G Junior will be released in Europe in October 2025 for €249 (about $290 USD).
