The author prefers their iPhone over the rumored Pixel 10 Pro for several reasons, including but not limited to the Pixel's slow GPU.

The Pixel 10 Pro doesn’t give enough reason to consider leaving even an iPhone 14 Pro behind
While our internal tests show better results than initial reports, the Pixel 10 Pro still lags its competitors. This difference was more acceptable when Pixels had lower prices than iPhones and Galaxy S models, but that's no longer true. Sadly, this isn't the only reason I wouldn't switch to Pixel now.
Performance Still Matters
I believe that a smartphone's performance isn't everything. However, it remains vital, especially with long-term use or demanding tasks. It is also a key aspect of any high-end flagship. Even if we excuse Google for average performance, the Pixel 10 Pro's results are still not good enough.
Google promised a 34% CPU improvement with the Tensor G5, which our tests confirm. Yet, the Pixel 10 Pro's benchmark scores don't match those of the Galaxy S24 and iPhone 14 Pro, both launched around two years ago. Focusing solely on GPU performance, the Pixel 10 Pro is on par with the Galaxy S23, which is nearly three years old!

The Pixel 10 Pro feels responsive and handles basic tasks well. If you mostly use your phone for everyday things, it should remain effective for years.
However, if you enjoy mobile gaming with titles like Genshin Impact, or use apps like Premiere Rush or Lightroom for video and photo editing, you might want to reconsider. The Pixel 10 Pro will function adequately at first, but its performance limits will appear sooner than on an iPhone 16 Pro or Galaxy S25.
The iPhone 14 Pro's benchmark scores are similar to the Pixel 10 Pro's, indicating Apple's continued dominance in device longevity. While an older device won't outperform a newer one, iPhones typically experience less performance decline than many Android phones. Usually, an iPhone's battery, not its processor, is the main cause of slowdowns.
Google’s Ecosystem Doesn’t Need Android
Android has improved significantly, offering a great user experience. I even prefer Material 3 Expressive over Apple's Liquid Glass design. Still, I don't require an Android device to fully utilize Google's services.
Google’s ecosystem is open, allowing me to use it on my Apple devices. My Gmail and Google Calendar sync with my Apple devices, I use Maps and Waze for navigation, and I have a Chromium-based browser on my MacBook. I may not have the Gemini assistant, but I use ChatGPT regardless.
Apple offers Continuity, Handoff, and Universal Control, features without Android equivalents. While Android has alternatives to AirDrop and Universal Clipboard, they aren't as seamless as Apple’s versions. Also, iMessage is essential for many, even if it isn't for me.
Switching all my devices would mean losing access to features I depend on daily, without gaining much in return. Google’s top services are easily accessible everywhere, after all.
A Choice is Always Good
Since neither iPhones nor Pixels are flawless, every choice involves compromise. The difficulty of switching ecosystems raises the bar for such a change. The Pixel 10 Pro seems ideal for current Android users, but is a harder sell for someone like me, who uses an iPhone.
Although I don't plan to switch, I appreciate the existence of the Pixel 10 series. It boasts exciting Gemini features exclusive to Android, proving Google's dedication to great hardware.
With the upcoming iPhone 17, Apple needs to catch up and can only be thankful that it has made switching away that difficult. Otherwise, the Pixel 10 could have been far more attractive to Apple users.
