The Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature brand new display technology.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra's screen might give it an edge over the iPhone 17 Pro.
A purported image of the Galaxy S26 Ultra has been leaked.
Samsung is known for its impressive displays, but the company doesn't always include its best screens in its S-series phones. Often, the company's latest innovations appear in competitor's devices first. However, this may not be the case with the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra.
According to leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a 6.89-inch screen, which is approximately the same size as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While those hoping for a larger screen might be disappointed, there is still cause for excitement.
Ice indicated that the phone's display will contain "surprises," but did not elaborate, only noting that it would incorporate Samsung's core display technologies.
Ice could be referring to Flex Magic Pixel and Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technologies.
Reportedly, Flex Magic Pixel will employ AI to manage viewing angles and ensure user privacy. The Fold series already utilizes CoE tech, which allows for accurate blacks, improved outdoor visibility, greater brightness, and reduced power usage.
Samsung may have additional surprises planned, but those details remain undisclosed.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is anticipated to be thinner than the Galaxy S25 Ultra and may have more rounded corners than the previous model. Three of the phone's four rear cameras are expected to be upgraded, while the 50MP telephoto sensor is expected to be used for the fourth year in a row. The phone will likely have a large camera bump.
The phone's weight is expected to be similar to the current model, and it is likely to have the same 5,000mAh battery.
With the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple has seemingly set a high standard, though the phone has not yet been released. Pre-release interest seems strong, suggesting that Apple may have a hit. Samsung will need to make a strong effort with the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra to overshadow the iPhone 17 Pro and other leading phones of 2025.
