The Google app for iOS and Android is getting a new tab with visual content for inspiration.

Google is creating a visual hub where users can save, share, and hide certain images.
Users can view images, save them to Google collections, or perform searches for additional content. According to Google, the feature offers a streamlined method to arrange creative concepts in a central location, from initial inspiration to subsequent endeavors. The "Images" icon will become available within weeks in the U.S. edition of the Google app for both iOS and Android. While browsing, the origin of each image will be displayed.
This update will transform the Google app into a hub where iOS and Android users can discover visual inspiration, similar to how users utilize Pinterest to find concepts through images and videos known as "Pins." A "Search for images" bar at the top of the screen will act as a direct link for image-specific searches.
Furthermore, a long press on an image will enable the use of Google Lens for visual searches of similar images. In addition to launching Google Lens, a long press will also offer options to share the image or save it. Users can also remove unwanted images from their feeds.
The images tab initially became available to Beta users in June and will soon begin its U.S. rollout. Upon opening the Images tab for the first time, users can choose topics of interest. Using this data, Google will create a customized image feed composed of publicly accessible images from Google Search. What users do with the images is their choice.
