The initial benchmarks for the M5 MacBook Pro are promising.

Apple’s new M5 chip just showed up on Geekbench, posting record scores that leave the M4 in the dust.
The M4 MacBook Pro scored around 3,770 and 14,700 in single and multi-core tests, respectively. The latest chip offers a notable speed improvement to the MacBook Pro.
While processor speed is crucial for demanding tasks like AI or video processing on MacBooks, both models are very fast for common tasks.
Apple recently revealed the 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro. Other models are anticipated, along with the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, potentially in early 2026. Significant upgrades are predicted for next year's MacBooks, including an updated 16-inch Pro.
This time, the MacBook Pro's processor was updated, but more substantial changes are expected next year. A touchscreen MacBook may be introduced, which is exciting to some, and cellular connectivity could also be coming to MacBooks.
