The name "Galaxy S26 Pro" may not be used for Samsung's next phone, which could disappoint some.

There's nothing exciting or groundbreaking about next year's Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro... apart from the handset's name, at least according to a typically reliable social media tipster.
Samsung is expected to replace this year's 6.2-inch Galaxy S25 with a Pro-branded model in the Galaxy S26 lineup next year.
Reportedly, the S26 Pro will likely maintain its predecessor's screen size and 1080p display resolution, with limited improvements to the S25's rear camera system.
According to a previous report, the Galaxy S26 Pro is expected to use a "new model" for its primary camera, implying a different sensor than the S25's Isocell GN3. However, the sensor size will reportedly remain the same, which may impact the 50MP camera's performance.
The S26 Pro is also predicted to replace the S25's 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 50MP sensor that is described as "useless." The 10MP telephoto camera is expected to remain unchanged, with no significant improvements to other key specs.
The S26 Pro will likely compete with the standard iPhone 17, which may outperform it in screen resolution, camera performance, and charging speed.
This could pose a challenge for Samsung, potentially affecting its position as a top smartphone vendor. While Samsung could regain the lead in global shipments after the initial iPhone 17 wave, the success of the Galaxy S26 lineup is crucial.
Samsung may need to reconsider the Galaxy S26 Pro name.
Samsung should improve the S26's cameras noticeably, increase charging speeds to 45W, and increase the battery capacity to 4,200 or 4,300mAh. These changes could make the Galaxy S26 (Pro) a success, though possibly not as significant as the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is rumored to have substantial upgrades over the S25 Ultra.
