The next Apple Watch Ultra is expected to have a larger screen and satellite capabilities.

Following in the footsteps of the 2023-released Apple Watch Ultra 2, the latest rugged timepiece from the world's top vendor brings some very major upgrades and improvements to the table.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 aims to rival the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and Garmin's long-lasting smartwatches. While many details were kept secret until the official unveiling, all information is now available.
Key features include:
* Larger display with thinner edges for better viewing in all conditions.
* LTPO3 screen tech for a faster refresh rate in always-on mode.
* Satellite messaging.
* 5G connectivity.
* Improved battery performance.
* Hypertension notifications.
The watch features the "largest screen of any Apple Watch" and the best battery life in the series. It can last up to 42 hours on a single charge or 72 hours in Low Power Mode, which is less than some Garmin models.
The high-performance LTPO3 display, 5G support (upgraded from 4G LTE), and satellite Emergency SOS add to its capabilities. When Wi-Fi or cellular is unavailable, the satellite communications enable texting to contacts and emergency services.
While the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a competitor, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 offers satellite connectivity. The Garmin Fenix 8 Pro has satellite messaging, location sharing, and voice calling, but its cellular capabilities are more limited than the Apple Watch Ultra 3.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 maintains the same $799 price as previous models. This is less than the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro, but more than the expected price of the 2025 Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Pre-orders are open now, with the watch available on September 19. It comes in "natural" or black titanium, with options for new Trail Loop, Ocean Band, and Alpine Loop colors.
Additionally, a book titled "Iconic Phones: Revolution at Your Fingertips," highlighting popular phones from the past two decades, will soon be released. Sign-ups are available for an early discount.
