The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra might have a feature that prevents others from seeing your screen.

One UI 8.5 leak hints at a built-in Privacy Display.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature a built-in Privacy Display, according to hints found in One UI 8.5. This function would automatically narrow viewing angles, shielding the screen from onlookers in public.
Reportedly, the technology enabling this is called Flex Magic Pixel, demonstrated by Samsung at MWC. While it's possible the entire S26 series will have it, sources indicate the Ultra model is the most likely candidate, due to Samsung's plans to equip the Ultra with its most advanced screen.
In addition to privacy features, the S26 Ultra's display is rumored to be brighter and thinner than the S25 Ultra's, thanks to a new M14 material. This enhancement could lead to increased brightness, reduced power consumption, and extended panel lifespan, potentially establishing a new standard for smartphone displays.
Integrated privacy could be a major selling point, as privacy is an increasing concern for many. While third-party screen protectors exist, having it built-in offers a more premium feel and could differentiate the Galaxy S26 Ultra from its competition.
This also aligns with Samsung's pattern of showcasing its most advanced display technologies on the Ultra. If the Privacy Display performs effectively, it could attract business users and travelers who value discretion, giving them a compelling reason to choose Samsung over other brands.
However, while privacy screens have benefits, they could also be inconvenient. Sharing photos or videos with friends might be difficult if others see only a blurred screen.
Therefore, it is hoped that Samsung will make this an option that can be turned on or off. Keeping it disabled most of the time and enabling it only in public areas might make the feature more desirable, without detracting from the large, high-quality display that the Ultra series is known for.
