The top Android browser app is receiving an upgrade.

The Samsung Internet Browser will be even better with the release of One UI 8.5.
The Samsung Internet Browser is available for installation on any Android device via the Google Play Store. A beta version can also be installed. Galaxy phone or tablet owners can directly install both versions from the Galaxy Store.
According to a post on X by @GalaxyTechie, a Samsung Internet Browser update is being prepared for release with One UI 8.5, expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series early next year. The update includes a new icon, a new welcome screen, and a floating address bar that disappears when scrolling.
The updated layout will resemble the Gallery app's grid view for easier tab management. A compact floating bar will allow button order customization for ease of use, with extra buttons available to simplify navigation. Users will also be able to "like" videos directly from the browser.
The One UI 8.5 update will block fixed-position pop-ups. When downloading an APK, the browser will check its availability on the Galaxy Store and install it from there if possible, enhancing security.
Upon closing the browser, a pop-up will appear, providing the option to close all open tabs at once, with an option to disable the pop-up in the future.
