The upcoming Motorola Edge 70 Ultra flagship phone has been revealed in new photos.

Now this looks like a very different kind of Android high-ender than what we're normally used to.
The design of the Edge 70 Ultra is striking, particularly the rear panel in its available colors. The dark green hue has a sophisticated look, with a texture that will attract attention without being too flashy.
The phone's design combines style and subtlety, evident in both the material and color choices. Unlike Motorola's typical vegan leather, the material is likely a textured, reinforced plastic. It should help the Edge 70 Ultra stand out from competitors like the OnePlus 15 or the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The Edge 70 Ultra will likely feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, a high-end chip, though not Qualcomm's latest. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is expected to power the Galaxy S26 Ultra after debuting in the Xiaomi 17. It could also be in Motorola's Razr 70 Ultra foldable sometime in 2026.
The Edge 70 Ultra is expected to launch next year, possibly around January 2026. The exact timing is uncertain, especially since Motorola skipped the Edge 60 Ultra. However, newly leaked images suggest an imminent announcement.
Using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 could make the Edge 70 Ultra more affordable than the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra. It should still provide sufficient performance for most users.
If priced competitively and equipped with 16GB of RAM, a triple-camera system, and a 6.7 or 6.8-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra could be successful. However, there are still many unknowns.
The phone is promising for Motorola fans, Android users, and the mobile industry in general. Increased competition from Motorola could push companies like OnePlus, Samsung, and Apple to improve, similar to what is happening in the foldable market. This could lead to innovation and affordability.
