The Xiaomi 15T series has been officially announced and is focused on having the best camera.
The Xiaomi 15T Pro doesn't just have Leica cameras; it can make do something else smartphones just don't do anymore.
Xiaomi introduced its newest premium smartphones, the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro, at an event in Munich. Like previous "T" series devices, these phones aim to deliver a flagship-level experience, especially in camera performance, without the higher price of Xiaomi's main series. This year's models include notable technology upgrades.
The camera system, developed with Leica, is a key feature. The Pro version has a triple camera arrangement, featuring a 50MP main camera with a Light Fusion 900 sensor and a ƒ/1.62 Leica Summilux lens.
It also includes a 50MP Leica 5x telephoto camera, enabling 10x zoom at optical quality. The standard 15T also has a Leica camera setup, but with a 2x telephoto lens. Both systems utilize Xiaomi's AISP 2.0 computational photography platform.
A notable addition is Xiaomi Offline Communication, allowing direct voice calls between two Xiaomi 15T phones from over a mile away without cellular or Wi-Fi service. It's intended for adventurers or those in signal-free areas, similar to a walkie-talkie.
The Xiaomi 15T Pro will come in Black, Gray, and Mocha Gold, with three storage options starting at €799 (about $938 USD). The Xiaomi 15T will be available in Black, Gray, and Rose Gold, with two storage versions starting at €649 (about $762 USD). A U.S. release has not been announced.
