However, the design appears very similar to the iPhone 17 Pro.

It seems Xiaomi's design choices may be primarily for marketing. The similarities will generate discussion and associate Xiaomi 17 searches with the iPhone 17 series. Despite the copied design elements, the phones include innovative features.

The second screen is a prime example. The rear camera module serves a practical purpose, offering a range of useful functions.

Xiaomi has made the rear display a genuinely useful feature, with extensive customization options. It also enhances the camera experience.

Beyond the copied HyperIsland and Liquid Glass aesthetics, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the 7,500 mAh battery in the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max are noteworthy. The battery charges at 100W while remaining lightweight due to its silicon composition.

Xiaomi's innovative spirit remains, although it is obscured by the copied designs, which might be a marketing tactic. The future of the second display and the Liquid Glass look is uncertain.

Personally, the design is overwhelming. I likely won't consider the Xiaomi 17 series when it is released outside of China because it too closely resembles a competitor.
