Verizon is aiming to demonstrate its ability to safeguard user data and maintain customer trust.

The carrier’s new security suite, rolling out this month, brings upgraded protection for both your home and your phone.
Verizon is promoting cybersecurity during October with enhanced security features. Digital Secure Home Plus, which provides advanced protection against cyber threats for $5.99 monthly, includes tools to block botnet and brute-force attacks, detects unusual device behavior, and protects router data.
According to Che Phillip, Senior Vice President of Consumer Device Marketing at Verizon, the company is focused on providing customers with security and support.
The Verizon Protect app has been redesigned with a clearer display of online safety. The updated app now features a Security Rating that gives a personalized score with suggestions for improvements. It also has Security Categories, which break down safety across Identity, Device, Network, and Online areas.
Verizon is reminding customers about Fall Open Enrollment, which runs through November 3, for Verizon Mobile Protect. This plan includes unlimited claim submissions, free cracked screen repairs, 24/7 tech support, and same-day device delivery and setup, covering loss, theft, damage, and post-warranty malfunctions.
Other carriers are also increasing their security efforts. T-Mobile recently created its Cyber Defense Center to find and stop cyberattacks.
These changes come after some network outages, which have occurred recently at Verizon. The company hopes that stronger protection tools and safety features will help restore trust with users.
