Verizon is now competing more aggressively on price with T-Mobile and AT&T.

Verizon is initiating a price competition in an unexpected way.

The top mobile carriers, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, all advertise superior networks, making it difficult for consumers to decide. To simplify the decision, Verizon is now trying to provide more competitive offers than AT&T and T-Mobile.

T-Mobile formerly had a 5G advantage over AT&T and Verizon. But as Verizon rolls out its 5G SA network and AT&T does the same, that advantage is diminishing.

With this technological advantage fading, the carriers will have to compete based on cost. Since plan prices are unlikely to decrease, Verizon is attempting to gain an advantage in a different way. The company is now offering to beat existing deals from AT&T and T-Mobile.

Customers can bring their current postpaid bill from AT&T or T-Mobile to Verizon. Verizon's website compares its most expensive plan to competing plans and claims to be the least expensive option. Because the comparison makes assumptions about things like phone financing, this may not be accurate for everyone. As a result, the company is encouraging consumers to submit their bills for a custom offer.

There is no guarantee of a better deal. Some T-Mobile customers report Verizon was unable to match their current rates.

Reportedly, Verizon's AI will be used to try and beat the prices of AT&T and T-Mobile. The tool will scan a customer's bill to find any discounts or promotions and apply comparable discounts to its own plan in order to lower the price.

While switching can be done online, some reports suggest that going to a store may result in the activation fee being waived.

This is an innovative application of AI by Verizon. The company will use technology to identify opportunities to beat AT&T and T-Mobile's prices, even if it cannot lower everyone's bills.
