Verizon is prioritizing customer care over billing during hurricane season.

Free international and local service keeps affected users in touch.
Verizon is providing free calls, texts, and data roaming to its customers in affected areas. The offer is also available to customers of Verizon-owned prepaid brands like Straight Talk, Tracfone, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile, Safelink, Walmart Family Mobile, Net10, GoSmart, and Page Plus.
No action is required to receive the discounts, which will be applied automatically, with calls rated at $0.00 per minute.
T-Mobile has also waived charges for those impacted by Hurricane Melissa, enabling individuals to contact loved ones and emergency services without concern for mobile costs.
The major carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, are increasingly focused on customer care. All three recently recognized National First Responders Day by providing discounts, donations, and programs to support first responders. Their swift response to Hurricane Melissa demonstrates how competition can encourage positive actions.
