WhatsApp is expected to get a useful, if minor, update soon.

A clever tweak could make statuses more convenient to manage.
WhatsApp statuses may soon have a draft-saving feature.
Many of WhatsApp's users have likely utilized the status feature. Currently, if you are writing a status and close the app, your progress is lost. However, a recent report suggests this may change soon.
The most recent WhatsApp beta includes code indicating users will be able to save status updates as drafts.
The function should mirror Instagram's: when exiting the status editor, a prompt will appear asking if you want to save. You'll have options to "Save as draft," "Discard," or "Continue editing." Saved drafts will appear when you next open the status creation screen.
Although a useful addition, one potential drawback is storage usage. Forgetting about drafts could lead to increased storage consumption on your phone. This has been observed on Instagram.
It will be interesting to see how WhatsApp manages this feature upon release. Perhaps drafts will be automatically deleted after a certain time.
Convenient and time-saving
The ability to save drafts is a useful improvement. It will save time and bring WhatsApp closer to other Meta platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. This will be a positive change for anyone who uses statuses.
When can we expect it?
The feature is not yet live, and there is no set release date, but it will likely be available soon. It may be included in the next stable version.
Additionally, WhatsApp is testing multi-account support on one device, has launched on Apple Watch, and has introduced passkey-encrypted backups, enabling you to secure backups using your phone's security features.
