Xiaomi's 17 series is expected to launch around the same time as the iPhone 17.

The new Android flagship phones will debut in their homeland this week.
The Xiaomi Pro models are adopting a redesigned aesthetic with a large camera panel spanning the device's width, similar to the expected design of the iPhone 17 Pro series.
Xiaomi has incorporated a secondary screen within the camera panel. Teaser images show it displaying various clock faces, serving as a viewfinder for rear camera selfies, showing application data, and presenting colorful visuals. The company may reveal additional functions upon release.
The launch of the Xiaomi 17 series, immediately following Apple's iPhone 17 launch, appears to be a calculated effort to gain prominence in China, a crucial market for Apple. Xiaomi aims to provide unique features, such as the rear display, to distinguish itself.
Internally, the devices will reportedly include the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, enhanced batteries with a 7,000mAh capacity in the standard model and a 7,500mAh capacity in the Pro Max version, and upgraded cameras. The premium model is rumored to feature three 50MP Leica cameras on the rear.
Xiaomi's launch event on September 19 coincides with the iPhone 17's market debut. This timing suggests Xiaomi's intention to capitalize on the attention surrounding the iPhone release to promote its own devices.
While a direct comparison requires hands-on evaluation, the Xiaomi 17 series, based on available information, could emerge as a strong Android competitor, showcasing innovative concepts.
